Some quick pictures of the PSU under construction. The casing is
an old tempertaure controller. The PSU will drive
both microphones. Top view with two PCBs in various stages of completion.
The black thing at the front is a punch for cutting circles
for the XLR sockets. You can find voltage measurements etc. for the
finished units here.
Bottom view shows pattern switch and transformers. I ended up using
5-position pattern switches because I was getting
sparks when I switched patterns - presumeably the switch was making
contact before it had entirely. disconnected.
The switch is now wired cardioid/no connection/omni/no connection/fig8.
PSU box being built.... I decided to leave the old lettering - i think that gives it character and kind of a retro feel.
